About BestATVTrails

BestATVTrails is an ATV trail research and gear recommendation site published by the Searchshop Media Network. We research trail systems across the United States — terrain, difficulty, permit requirements, seasonal access, and what riders actually encounter — and we recommend the specific gear you need to ride each one.

What this site covers

BestATVTrails covers ATV and OHV trail systems across 11 states, with trail guides for beginner to advanced riders. Alongside the trail research, we publish gear buying guides for the equipment that matters most on the trail: helmets, recovery gear, navigation tools, safety equipment, and accessories that make hard trails manageable.

We don't cover street riding, motocross, or side-by-side racing. We cover the trail systems where ATV riders spend their weekends — and the gear that keeps them out there.

Why gear and trails together

Trails are not interchangeable. A beginner-friendly Florida sand loop demands completely different gear than a technical Colorado alpine route at 11,000 feet. Telling you a trail is "hard" without telling you what to bring is incomplete advice. Every trail guide on this site includes a "Gear for This Trail" section with specific product recommendations for that terrain type, difficulty level, and environment.

Our standards

Every trail guide on BestATVTrails is built on structured research — not recycled trail listings. We draw on land manager data from the BLM and USDA Forest Service, rider reports, community trail databases, permit and access records, and direct correspondence with trail system operators. We correct errors publicly and update trail conditions when access changes.

Our gear recommendations are built on manufacturer specifications, structured analysis of rider reviews across platforms, and editorial expertise in off-road riding conditions. We note clearly in every article whether a product was directly evaluated or research-validated.

How we make money

BestATVTrails earns affiliate commissions when readers buy through our links — primarily through the Amazon Associates program and other affiliate networks. This costs you nothing extra and never affects our recommendations. Full affiliate disclosure.
