Independence
Affiliate relationships do not influence our trail ratings, gear rankings, or editorial conclusions. We have never accepted payment for a positive recommendation. Manufacturers do not review content before publication.
Who Writes Our Content
All trail guides and buying guides are produced by the Searchshop Editorial team — led by Salem Hassan with 30+ years in outdoor and powersports retail, with editorial review by Ellen Kietzmann and Alana Azzouz — using land manager data, rider community sources, manufacturer specifications, and verified owner feedback. We do not publish invented author names or personas.
Trail Research Standards
Trail guides are built on:
- Primary land manager sources (BLM, USDA Forest Service, state OHV offices)
- Rider community databases and verified trail reports
- Permit, access, and seasonal closure records
- Direct correspondence with trail system operators where applicable
We update trail guides when access conditions, permit requirements, or trail status changes. Corrections are made publicly and noted in the article.
Gear Review Standards
Gear recommendations are based on manufacturer specifications, structured analysis of verified rider reviews, and editorial expertise in off-road conditions. We note clearly in every review whether a product was physically evaluated or research-validated.
AI Disclosure
